What letscleanup.org Is

letscleanup.org is a civic platform for organising, joining, and tracking community cleanup events across India. It enables individuals and organisations to submit events, RSVP and participate, verify attendance, and build a permanent public record of civic impact. The Platform facilitates coordination — it does not itself organise, supervise, or manage any event.

Eligibility

To create an account you must be at least 18 years of age with legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement. Under the Indian Contract Act 1872, persons under 18 cannot enter into contracts. Minors may attend events only if accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times, who holds an account, has accepted these Terms, and assumes full responsibility for the Minor's safety and conduct. Bringing a Minor to an event constitutes the accompanying adult's acceptance of these Terms on the Minor's behalf and a waiver of all claims on the Minor's behalf against letscleanup.org. Organisers are responsible for refusing participation to unaccompanied Minors at their events.

Accounts

You are responsible for providing accurate information, maintaining the security of your account, and all activity that occurs under it. Once you submit your first event, your organiser display name and organiser type are permanently locked — civic impact records must be identity-consistent. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or undermine platform integrity.

Organising Events

All events must be submitted for review before publication. Submission does not guarantee approval. By submitting an event you commit to conducting the cleanup as declared, complying with all applicable laws including any permissions required for the location, ensuring participant safety, treating all participants with respect, submitting accurate impact data, and not cancelling without notifying participants. Repeated cancellations without sufficient cause may result in suspension of organiser privileges. Any liability arising from organising a cleanup on restricted or private land rests solely with the organiser.

Nature of the Platform — Facilitation Only

letscleanup.org is a facilitation platform only. We do not organise events, employ organisers or participants, supervise activities, attend events, or exercise any control over how events are planned or executed. Our approval of an event means only that it meets our submission criteria — it is not an endorsement of the organiser, the location, the activity, or its suitability for any person.

Assumption of Risk

Outdoor civic volunteering activities involve inherent physical risks including bodily injury, illness, exposure to hazardous or sharp waste, adverse weather, uneven terrain, traffic, and accidents caused by others. By using the Platform you voluntarily assume all such risks, acknowledge that letscleanup.org has no presence at any event and no ability to ensure your safety, and accept sole responsibility for assessing whether any event or location is safe for you. If you bring a Minor, you assume full responsibility for that Minor's safety and supervision and waive on their behalf any claim against letscleanup.org.

Organiser and Participant Conduct

letscleanup.org is not responsible for the actions, omissions, negligence, or misconduct of any organiser, participant, or third party in connection with any event. Any misconduct — including negligence, recklessness, illegal activity, or harassment — is the sole responsibility of the individual. We are not a party to any dispute between organisers and participants and have no obligation to intervene, mediate, or compensate any party.

Civic Records and Impact Data

Once an event is verified and completed, its impact record is permanently locked and cannot be modified. Organiser profiles and verified event records are publicly visible. By submitting events and participating in verification, you consent to your organiser display name and verified impact data being publicly displayed on the Platform indefinitely.

Prohibited Conduct

You may not submit false or fabricated event information, create events for purposes other than genuine civic cleanup, harass or abuse other users, impersonate any person or organisation, manipulate impact metrics or verification processes, use the Platform for commercial solicitation, or violate any applicable Indian law. We reserve the right to remove content and suspend or ban accounts for violations without prior notice.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted or error-free, that any event will take place or be conducted safely or legally, that any organiser is qualified or trustworthy, that any location is safe or legally available, or that participation will not result in injury or harm. We are a technology platform, not an event management company or safety authority.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Indian law, letscleanup.org and its operators shall not be liable for any injury, death, illness, loss, damage, or harm arising from your use of the Platform, participation in any event, any act or omission of any organiser or participant, or any hazard at any event location. Our total aggregate liability shall not exceed INR 100. These limitations apply regardless of the form of action and even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless letscleanup.org and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising from your use of the Platform, any event you organise, your violation of these Terms, your violation of any applicable law, or any content you submit.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any reason at our discretion. Upon deletion, your personal data will be removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Verified civic records referencing your account will be anonymised to preserve the integrity of the permanent civic record.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of India. Before initiating legal proceedings, you agree to first attempt informal resolution by contacting us at hello@letscleanup.org.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email at least 7 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
