Privacy Policy

How we collect, use, and handle information on letscleanup.org.

Effective Date: 9 March 2026

By accessing or using letscleanup.org, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to this Privacy Policy. We reserve the right to modify this policy at any time. Changes take effect upon posting. Continued use of the Platform constitutes your acceptance. It is your responsibility to review this policy periodically.

01

Information We Collect

We collect information you provide to us, information generated through your use of the Platform, and information received from third-party services you use to access the Platform. This includes identity information such as your name and email address, contact information you choose to provide, information relating to events you submit or attend, location and geographic information associated with events, participation and attendance records, and technical and usage information generated by your use of the Platform. This list is illustrative, not exhaustive.

02

How We Use Your Information

We may use the information we collect for any purpose reasonably related to the operation, maintenance, improvement, and promotion of the Platform — including creating and managing your account, facilitating events, communicating with you about the Platform and matters of civic interest, building civic impact records, enforcing our Terms of Service, and complying with applicable law. We are not obligated to seek additional consent for uses that fall within the ordinary scope of operating a civic engagement platform.

03

Communications

By creating an account, you consent to receiving communications from us. These may include transactional messages related to your account and events, as well as communications about platform updates, civic campaigns, and matters relevant to the platform's mission. You may opt out of non-essential communications at any time by contacting us. We reserve the right to continue sending communications that are operationally necessary regardless of opt-out preferences.

04

Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information to third parties for their independent commercial use. We may share your information with service providers who assist us in operating the Platform, with other users to the extent necessary for the functioning of events (for example, an organiser may see the names of registered participants), with any successor entity in a merger or acquisition, as required by applicable law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of the Platform or others.

05

Public Information

Certain information is publicly visible by design — including event listings, organiser profiles, verified impact records, and civic participation data. By submitting events or participating in the verification process, you consent to relevant information being publicly displayed on the Platform, potentially indefinitely. We are not responsible for how publicly visible information is accessed or shared by third parties.

06

Nature of the Platform

letscleanup.org is a facilitation platform only. We do not organise, supervise, or attend events. We have no control over how events are conducted and no ability to ensure the safety, legality, or quality of any event. Participation in outdoor civic volunteering carries inherent physical risks. By using the Platform, you acknowledge that you are solely responsible for your own safety and that letscleanup.org bears no responsibility for any injury, harm, or loss arising from your participation in or organisation of any event. Any misconduct by an organiser or participant is the sole responsibility of that individual.

07

Data Retention

We retain information for as long as we consider reasonably necessary, or as required by law. We may retain certain information indefinitely where it forms part of the Platform's civic record or where deletion would compromise the integrity of verified impact data. We are not obligated to retain any particular information for any specified period.

08

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect information we collect from unauthorised access and misuse. However, no platform is entirely secure and we do not warrant the security of any information you provide. You use the Platform and transmit information to us at your own risk.

09

Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, you may have certain rights with respect to your personal information, including rights of access, correction, and deletion. To exercise any such rights, contact us at hello@letscleanup.org. We will respond to the extent required by law and reserve the right to decline requests that are disproportionate, repetitive, or technically infeasible.

10

Cookies and Tracking

We may use cookies and similar technologies as necessary to operate the Platform. By using the Platform, you consent to our use of such technologies. You may adjust your browser settings to refuse certain cookies, but doing so may affect your ability to use the Platform.

11

Children

The Platform is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used the Platform, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

12

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, letscleanup.org and its operators shall not be liable for any damages, losses, or claims arising from or related to this Privacy Policy, the collection or use of your information, or any breach or alleged breach of this policy.

13

Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising under this policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of India.

Grievance Officer

In accordance with applicable Indian law, we have designated a Grievance Officer to address complaints regarding this Privacy Policy and the handling of personal data. Complaints will be acknowledged within 48 hours and addressed within 30 days.
